As used in Kan. Stat. Ann. §§ 40-2228f through 40-2228h, and amendments thereto:

(a) The term “clean claim” means a claim that has no defect or impropriety, including any lack of required substantiating documentation, or particular circumstance requiring special treatment that prevents timely payment from being made on the claim under the Kansas long-term care insurance prompt payment act.

  • Long-term care insurance: includes group and individual policies or riders whether issued by insurers, fraternal benefit societies, nonprofit medical and hospital service corporations, prepaid health plans, health maintenance organizations, or any similar organization. (b) The term “claim” means a written proof of loss as defined in paragraph (7) of subsection (A) of Kan. Stat. Ann. § 40-2203, and amendments thereto, or an electronic proof of loss which contains the information required by paragraph (7) of subsection (A) of Kan. Stat. Ann. § 40-2203, and amendments thereto.

(c) The term “long-term care insurance” shall have the meaning ascribed to it in Kan. Stat. Ann. § 40-2227, and amendments thereto.
