Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 60-2602

  • Arrest: Taking physical custody of a person by lawful authority.
  • Attachment: A procedure by which a person's property is seized to pay judgments levied by the court.
  • Injunction: An order of the court prohibiting (or compelling) the performance of a specific act to prevent irreparable damage or injury.
  • Property: includes personal and real property. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
  • Summons: Another word for subpoena used by the criminal justice system.

The sheriff shall endorse upon every summons, order of arrest, or for the delivery of property, or of attachment, injunction execution or order of sale, the day and hour it was received by him or her. The sheriff shall execute every summons, order or other process and return the same as required by law.
