  • Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
  • State board: means the state board of education created by sections 2 and 3 of article 6 of the constitution and provided for by Kan. See Kansas Statutes 72-244

The state board of education shall remit all moneys received by or for it under any contract entered into under the provisions of this act or from any grants from the federal government or any unit or agency thereof to the state treasurer in accordance with the provisions of Kan. Stat. Ann. § 75-4215, and amendments thereto. Upon receipt of each such remittance, the state treasurer shall deposit the entire amount in the state treasury to the credit of the computerized information search services fee fund, which fund is hereby established. All expenditures from the computerized information search services fee fund shall be made in accordance with appropriation acts upon warrants of the director of accounts and reports issued pursuant to vouchers approved by the state board of education or by a person or persons designated by it.
