Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 72-6317

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

The attorney general or any district attorney may enforce the provisions of Kan. Stat. Ann. §§ 72-6312 through 72-6319, and amendments thereto, by bringing an action in a court of competent jurisdiction, and may seek injunctive relief to enjoin any educational agency, any employee or agent thereof, or any other entity in possession of student data from disclosing any student data in violation of the provisions of Kan. Stat. Ann. §§ 72-6312 through 72-6319, and amendments thereto.
