Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 74-8839

  • Commission: means the Kansas racing and gaming commission created by this act. See Kansas Statutes 74-8802
  • Parimutuel wagering: means a form of wagering on the outcome of horse and greyhound races, including historical horse races conducted by an historical horse race machine, in which those who wager purchase tickets of various denominations on one or more horses or greyhounds and all wagers for each race are pooled and the winning ticket holders are paid prizes from such pool in amounts proportional to the total receipts in the pool. No licensee of the Kansas racing commission shall recruit for employment or as a volunteer any person under 18 years of age for the purpose of appearing, being heard or being quoted in any advertising or promotion of parimutuel wagering or racing with parimutuel wagering in any electronic or print media.
