Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 76-2044

  • Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
  • Property: includes personal and real property. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201

(a) The state historical society may dispose of, by gift, sale or other conveyance, all or part of the state-owned property located within the tract of land described in subsection (b), including all improvements thereon, known as the “Souders Historical Farm-Museum.”

(b) The tract of land referred to in subsection (a) is described as follows: The northwest quarter (NW 1/4) and the north one-half (N 1/2) of the southwest quarter (SW 1/4) of section 18, township twenty-eight (28) south, range 4 west (R4W) of the 6th P.M. in Sedgwick county, Kansas, containing 240 acres, more or less.

(c) The disposition by gift, sale or other conveyance of state-owned property authorized by this section shall not be subject to the provisions of Kan. Stat. Ann. §§ 75-3043a and amendments thereto.
