The following described land is hereby declared to possess unusual historical interest: A tract of eighty (80) acres consisting of the east one-half (1/2) of the northeast one-quarter (1/4) of section 29, township 18 south, range 7 west of the 6th principal meridian, Rice county, Kansas. Said land is the site of one of the principal towns and an important ceremonial center of the Quiviran (Wichita) Indians visited by the earliest Spanish exploring expeditions in the mid-16th century prior to the founding of Jamestown and Plymouth by the English. The site is one of the more significant archeological sites in the great plains.
