Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 79-34,102

  • Director: means the director of taxation or the director's duly authorized deputy, agent or representative. See Kansas Statutes 79-3490
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Prosecute: To charge someone with a crime. A prosecutor tries a criminal case on behalf of the government.
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201

The director of taxation shall enforce the provisions of this act. The secretary of revenue shall adopt rules and regulations for the administration of this act. The director of taxation may call upon the peace officers of this state to perform their several duties within their respective jurisdiction, and it shall be the duty of each such peace officer to render aid in the enforcement of the provisions of this act. The county attorneys of the several counties of this state shall prosecute all violations of the provisions of this act, and all civil proceedings arising or pending in their respective counties for recovery of tax, penalties or interest, arising under the provisions of this act.
