- Trial: A hearing that takes place when the defendant pleads "not guilty" and witnesses are required to come to court to give evidence.
The court shall decide on a motion for a new trial within ten days from the time it is submitted for decision. The time may be extended for a specified period upon the written consent or stipulation of record by the attorneys representing all parties. When the court grants a motion for a new trial, it shall specify each of its reasons in the order.
