Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 11:3563

  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.

In addition to, and notwithstanding, the provisions of any other law, and particularly La. Rev. Stat. 11:3521, any person who is a member of the Police Pension and Relief Fund for the city of Lake Charles shall be entitled, without contribution therefor other than the increased contributions required by La. Rev. Stat. 11:3546, to service credit in such pension and relief fund for active service in the military service of the United States for up to but not in excess of two years of such active military service whether rendered prior to or after commencement of employment in the police department.  Application for credit for such active service shall be made and evidence thereof shall be furnished to the board of trustees of the pension and relief fund at any time prior to application for retirement.  The credit herein authorized shall be only for purposes of the police pension and relief fund, and shall not be used to compute time served with the police department for purposes of compensation, promotion, longevity or any other purpose.
