Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 32:906
- Commissioner: means the Department of Public Safety and Corrections. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 32:851
- Person: means every natural person, firm, co-partnership, association, or corporation. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 32:851
- Proof of financial responsibility: means proof of ability to respond in damages for liability, on account of accidents occurring subsequent to the effective date of the proof, arising out of the ownership, maintenance, or use of a motor vehicle in the amounts specified in La. - State: means any state, territory, or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia, or any province of the Dominion of Canada. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 32:851
The commissioner shall consent to the cancellation of any bond or certificate of insurance or the commissioner shall direct and the State Treasurer shall return any money or securities to the person entitled thereto upon the substitution and acceptance of other adequate proof of financial responsibility pursuant to this Chapter.
