Louisiana Revised Statutes 33:423.22 – Town of Pearl River; authority over personnel by elected chief of police

Notwithstanding the provisions of La. Rev. Stat. 33:423 or any other provision of law to the contrary, in and for the town of Pearl River, the elected chief of police shall appoint, promote, discipline, and discharge police personnel subject to the budgetary limitations of the mayor and the board of aldermen pertaining to the number of allotted positions for the police department. Any such action shall be taken without regard to race, creed, or color.
