- board of examiners: means the Board of River Port Pilot Commissioners and Examiners, established in La. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 34:1071
- Oath: A promise to tell the truth.
All the pilots shall take an oath of office and furnish bond to the extent of one thousand dollars approved by the board of examiners of each port.
