Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 47:305.52

  • computer software: means a set of statements, data, or instructions to be used directly or indirectly in a computer in order to bring about a certain result in any form in which those statements, data, or instructions may be embodied, transmitted, or fixed, by any method now known or hereafter developed, regardless of whether the statements, data, or instructions are capable of being perceived by or communicated to humans.   • Use tax: includes the use, the consumption, the distribution, and the storage as herein defined. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 47:301

A political subdivision may, by ordinance, provide for a sales and use tax exemption within the entire area of the political subdivision for sales of custom computer software.
