- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- past due spousal support: means the amount of a delinquency determined under a court order under state law for support and maintenance of a spouse. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:325
- person: includes a body of persons, whether incorporated or not. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 1:10
- Trustee: A person or institution holding and administering property in trust.
