- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- Prosecute: To charge someone with a crime. A prosecutor tries a criminal case on behalf of the government.
The proprietors may prosecute and defend civil actions by their agent, and the certificate of the proprietors’ clerk is evidence of such agency.
