- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
- Continuance: Putting off of a hearing ot trial until a later time.
The power of the court to require payment of costs or to refuse them as the condition of amendment or continuance is not affected by this Title.
