Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes > Title 17-A > Part 2 > Chapter 25 - Bribery and Corrupt Practices

  • Assets: (1) The property comprising the estate of a deceased person, or (2) the property in a trust account.
  • Athlete: means a physically active individual training for or participating in an amateur, educational or professional athletic organization or any other association that sponsors athletic programs or events in the State. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 14352
  • Athletic injury: means a disruption of tissue continuity that is sustained by an athlete or recreational athlete when that injury:

  • Athletic trainer: means a person licensed by the department to use that title after meeting the requirements of this chapter. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 14352
  • Athletic training: means :

  • Attachment: A procedure by which a person's property is seized to pay judgments levied by the court.
  • Commissioner: means the Commissioner of Professional and Financial Regulation. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 14352
  • Department: means the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 14352
  • Donor: The person who makes a gift.
  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.
  • Liabilities: The aggregate of all debts and other legal obligations of a particular person or legal entity.
  • Majority: when used in reference to age shall mean the age of 18 and over. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
  • Municipality: means a city or town, except as provided in chapter 225. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 30-A Sec. 2001
  • Party: means a public agency or the following federally recognized Indian tribes or their political subdivisions:

  • Real property: Land, and all immovable fixtures erected on, growing on, or affixed to the land.
  • Recreational athlete: means an individual participating in fitness training and conditioning, sports or other athletic competition, practices or events requiring physical strength, agility, flexibility, range of motion, speed or stamina and who is not affiliated with an amateur, educational or professional athletic organization or any association that sponsors athletic programs or events in the State.
