- Agency: means any office or any place of business of a foreign bank located in any state of the United States at which credit balances are maintained incidental to or arising out of the exercise of banking powers, checks are paid, or money is lent, but at which deposits may not be accepted from persons who are citizens or residents of the United States. - Agent: means an individual appointed to serve in the capacity of a superintendent. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 20-A Sec. 1
- Alcohol: means the substance known as ethyl alcohol, hydrated oxide of ethyl or spirit of wine which is commonly produced by the fermentation or distillation of grain, starch, molasses, sugar, potatoes or other substances, and includes all dilutions and mixtures of these substances. - Ambulance: means any vehicle, whether an air, ground or water vehicle, that is designed, constructed or routinely used or intended to be used for the transportation of ill or injured persons. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 83
- Ambulance service: means any person, persons or organization that holds itself out to be a provider of transportation of ill or injured persons or that routinely provides transportation for ill or injured persons. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 83
- Board: means any authority, board, commission, committee, council and similar organization, including independent organizations, established or authorized by the Legislature to fulfill specific functions the members of which do not serve full time. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 5 Sec. 12002
- Board: means the Emergency Medical Services' Board established pursuant to section 88. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 83
- Board of directors: means the governing body with statutory powers and duties for a school administrative district. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 20-A Sec. 1
- Branch: means any office or any place of business of a foreign bank located in any state of the United States at which deposits are received. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 9-B Sec. 1311
- Brewery: means a person that engages in the activities under either paragraph A or B, or both:
A. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 28-A Sec. 2Bureau: means the Department of Administrative and Financial Services, Bureau of Alcoholic Beverages and Lottery Operations. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 28-A Sec. 2 Certificate: means the document issued by the commissioner to a person indicating that the person is certified by the State as qualified to perform the job indicated in that document. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 1371 Certified responsible managing supervisor: means a person certified by the State as qualified to determine whether the plan and installation of fire sprinkler systems meet the standards provided by law, rule and regulation. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 9-B Sec. 131Host state: means a state, other than the home state of an out-of-state financial institution, national bank or federal association, in which the financial institution maintains a branch or seeks to establish and maintain a branch. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 9-B Sec. 131 Inspect: means to visually examine a fire sprinkler system or a portion of the system to verify that it appears to be in working order and free from physical damage. A. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 28-A Sec. 2Manufacturer: means a person who distills, rectifies, brews, ferments, bottles or otherwise produces liquor. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 28-A Sec. 2 Membership: means active participation in the program of a school from the date of enrollment to the time the student withdraws or is absent from the school for 10 consecutive days for reasons other than illness. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 28-A Sec. 2 Municipal school unit: means a state-approved unit of school administration composed of a single municipality. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 83 Representative office: means any office of a foreign bank that is located in any state and is not a federal branch, federal agency, state branch, state agency or subsidiary of a foreign bank. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 9-B Sec. 1311 retail licensee: means a person licensed by the bureau to engage in the purchase and resale of liquor in the original container or by the drink for on-premises or off-premises consumption. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 28-A Sec. 2 Superintendent: means the person in a school administrative unit or school union appointed and having the authority and responsibility under this Title and other applicable statutes.
