1. Definitions. As used in this section, unless the context otherwise indicates, the following terms have the following meanings.
A. “Political matters” means matters relating to elections for political office, political parties, proposals to change legislation, proposals to change rules or regulations, proposals to change public policy and the decision to join or support any political party or political, civic, community, fraternal or labor organization. B. “Religious employer” means a church or convention or association of churches or an organization that is operated primarily for religious purposes and that is operated, supervised, controlled or principally supported by a church or convention or association of churches. C. “Religious matters” means matters relating to religious belief, affiliation and practice and the decision to join or support any religious organization or association. [PL 2023, c. 414, §1 (NEW).]

Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 26 Sec. 600-B

  • Employee: means every person who may be permitted, required or directed by any employer in consideration of direct or indirect gain or profit, to engage in any employment;
