  • Athlete: means a physically active individual training for or participating in an amateur, educational or professional athletic organization or any other association that sponsors athletic programs or events in the State. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 32 Sec. 14352
  • Athletic injury: means a disruption of tissue continuity that is sustained by an athlete or recreational athlete when that injury:

  • Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.

  • Dependent: A person dependent for support upon another.
  • Federal Government: means the United States of America or any agency or instrumentality, corporate or otherwise, of the United States of America. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 30-A Sec. 2001
  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
  • Municipality: means a city or town, except as provided in chapter 225. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 30-A Sec. 2001
  • Party: means a public agency or the following federally recognized Indian tribes or their political subdivisions:
