  • Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.
This Act shall be known and may be cited as “AN ACT to Implement the Maine Indian Claims Settlement.” [PL 1979, c. 732, §§ 1, 31 (NEW).]
