- Abuse: means the occurrence of the following acts:
A. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 19-A Sec. 4102Affidavit: A written statement of facts confirmed by the oath of the party making it, before a notary or officer having authority to administer oaths. Allegation: something that someone says happened. Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it. Complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant. Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed. Court: means a District Court and, with regard to section 4113, the tribal court of the Passamaquoddy Tribe or the Penobscot Nation. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 19-A Sec. 4102 Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime. Department: means the Department of Health and Human Services and its agents and authorized representatives. In forma pauperis: In the manner of a pauper. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72 Law enforcement agency: means a state, county, tribal, municipal or University of Maine System law enforcement agency. Mortgagor: The person who pledges property to a creditor as collateral for a loan and who receives the money. Order: means :
