Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 9-B Sec. 447

  • Appraisal: A determination of property value.
  • Financial institution: means a universal bank or limited purpose bank organized under the provisions of this Title, and a trust company, nondepository trust company, savings bank, industrial bank or savings and loan association organized under the prior laws of this State.   • Person: means an individual, corporation, partnership, joint venture, trust, estate or unincorporated association. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 9-B Sec. 131
  • Real estate: includes lands and all tenements and hereditaments connected therewith, and all rights thereto and interests therein. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
A financial institution that imposes a fee on a person for the cost of an appraisal of any real estate shall furnish to the person, at no cost, one copy of the appraisal upon request, if the request is made within 90 days after the financial institution has provided notice of action taken on the application for credit or the date of the closing, whichever is later, or 90 days after the application is withdrawn.
