Terms Used In Maryland Code, BUSINESS REGULATION 17-17A-04

  • County: means a county of the State or Baltimore City. See
  • state: means :

    (1) a state, possession, territory, or commonwealth of the United States; or

    (2) the District of Columbia. See
(a) An applicant for a chain store license shall pay to the clerk a license fee based on the number of locations in the State.

(b) (1) This subsection does not apply in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Cecil County.

(2) The license fee in each county is:

(i) for 2 to 5 stores, $5 for each store;

(ii) for 6 to 10 stores, $20 for each store;

(iii) for 11 to 20 stores, $100 for each store; and

(iv) for more than 20 stores, $150 for each store.

(c) In Baltimore City and Baltimore County the license fee is:

(1) for 2 to 5 stores, $12 for each store;

(2) for 6 to 10 stores, $50 for each store;

(3) for 11 to 20 stores, $250 for each store; and

(4) for more than 20 stores, $150 for each store.

(d) In Cecil County the license fee is:

(1) for 2 to 5 stores, $10 for each store;

(2) for 6 to 10 stores, $30 for each store;

(3) for 11 to 20 stores, $100 for each store; and

(4) for more than 20 stores, $300 for each store.
