Terms Used In Maryland Code, LOCAL GOVERNMENT 1-404

  • County: means a county of the State or Baltimore City. See
  • Person: includes an individual, receiver, trustee, guardian, personal representative, fiduciary, representative of any kind, corporation, partnership, business trust, statutory trust, limited liability company, firm, association, or other nongovernmental entity. See
  • state: means :

    (1) a state, possession, territory, or commonwealth of the United States; or

    (2) the District of Columbia. See
(a) This section applies to all counties and municipalities.

(b) A county or municipality that operates a minority business enterprise utilization program for county or municipal procurements and has a process for the certification of minority business enterprises for eligibility in that program shall accept as certified for the program any person that has been certified as a minority business enterprise by the State certification agency designated under § 14-303(b) of the State Finance and Procurement Article.
