(1) The director of commerce shall appoint and be responsible for 1 or more individuals within 30 days of the effective date of this act to serve as the superconducting super collider ombudsman. The ombudsman may act on behalf of the state in attempting to reconcile grievances between the state and any person aggrieved by the planning, construction, or operation of the superconducting super collider.
  (2) Any person aggrieved pursuant to subsection (1) may submit a request to the ombudsman to review the grievance. The ombudsman shall respond within 7 days of the request.

  • Ombudsman: means the superconducting super collider ombudsman created in section 19. See Michigan Laws 3.813
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. See Michigan Laws 8.3o
  • Superconducting super collider: means a 20 trillion electron volt superconducting super colliding particle beam accelerator proposed by the United States department of energy. See Michigan Laws 3.813
