Terms Used In Michigan Laws 324.61515

  • Gas: means a mixture of hydrocarbons and varying quantities of nonhydrocarbons in a gaseous state which may or may not be associated with oil, and includes those liquids resulting from condensation. See Michigan Laws 324.61501
  • Illegal product: means a product of oil or gas or any part of a product of oil or gas that was knowingly processed or derived in whole or in part from illegal oil or gas. See Michigan Laws 324.61501
  • Oil: means natural crude oil or petroleum and other hydrocarbons, regardless of gravity, that are produced at the well in liquid form by ordinary production methods and that are not the result of condensation of gas after it leaves the underground reservoir. See Michigan Laws 324.61501
  • Person: means an individual, partnership, corporation, association, governmental entity, or other legal entity. See Michigan Laws 324.301
   A person shall not sell, purchase, acquire, transport, refine, process, or otherwise handle or dispose of any illegal oil or gas or any illegal product of oil or gas. A penalty or forfeiture shall not be imposed as a result of an act described in this section until certificates of clearance or tenders are required by the supervisor as provided in section 61514.
