  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories.    Through December 31, 1986, the general administration, management, and responsibility for the operation of the retirement system created by this act shall continue to be the responsibility of the director of the department of state police under the supervision of the state administrative board, as provided by section 2 of former Act No. 251 of the Public Acts of 1935.
