  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories.    It shall be and hereby is made the duty of the secretary of state to make his certificate of the date of the end of the session of the legislature now in session, and of each and every session of the present or any succeeding legislature hereafter to be held which certificate shall be printed and published with the laws of the session of the legislature to which it refers which certificates and each of them so published, as aforesaid, shall be received as prima facie evidence of the facts therein stated in all the courts of this state.
