- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. All ordinances, resolutions, rules, and regulations of a charter township which were in effect at the time such township became a charter township and which are not inconsistent with the laws of the state applicable to charter townships shall continue in full force as the ordinances, resolutions, rules, and regulations of the charter township until repealed or amended by action of the proper authorities.
