Terms Used In Michigan Laws 421.154

  • Community-based organization: means a private, nonprofit organization that is representative of a community or of a significant segment of a community and which provides employment and job training services. See Michigan Laws 421.151
  • Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
  • Service provider: means a person, organization, or other entity that receives job training partnership act funds, either directly or indirectly from the governor, for the purpose of providing job training or other related services pursuant to the job training partnership act. See Michigan Laws 421.151
   A community-based organization that meets the criteria established pursuant to section 3 shall be given proper consideration for selection as a service provider subject to such conditions as will ensure use consistent with the distribution and utilization of funds under the job training partnership act.
