- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. A railroad police officer appointed and commissioned under this act, before entering upon the discharge of his or her duties, shall give a surety bond, in the sum of $1,000.00, conditioned upon the faithful performance of those duties. A bond shall be filed with, and approved by, the director of the department of state police.
