Terms Used In Michigan Laws 500.1333

  • Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
  • Enterprise risk: means an activity, circumstance, event, or series of events involving 1 or more affiliates of an insurer that, if not remedied promptly, is likely to have a material adverse effect on the financial condition or liquidity of the insurer or its insurance holding company system as a whole, including, but not limited to, anything that would cause the insurer to be hazardous to policyholders, creditors, and the public.   The failure to file a registration statement, an amendment to or summary of the registration statement, or an enterprise risk report required by section 1324 to 1332 within the time specified for the filing is a violation of this chapter.
