- Commissioner: means the director. See Michigan Laws 500.102
- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
- state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories. A society that is licensed or authorized to transact business in this state may continue the business and the authority of the society until the society’s license or authority is suspended or revoked by the commissioner or is terminated at the society’s request. A duly certified copy or duplicate of the license shall be prima facie evidence that the licensee is a fraternal benefit society within the meaning of this chapter.
