  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories.    The common council of any incorporated village within this state is hereby authorized and empowered to set aside and expend from and out of the general fund of any such village a sum of money not exceeding 1,500 dollars in any 1 year for the purpose of sprinkling, moistening or in any other manner treating for the purpose of moistening, the traveled portions of any designated street or streets, or parts thereof, in any such village.
