  • following: when used by way of reference to any section of the statutes, mean the section next preceding or next following that in which the reference is made, unless some other section is expressly designated in the reference. See Missouri Laws 1.020
  • hereafter: means the time after the statute containing it takes effect. See Missouri Laws 1.020
  • Heretofore: means any time previous to the day when the statute containing it takes effect. See Missouri Laws 1.020
  • State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020
  • United States: includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020

In order to carry out the requirements of an act of Congress of the United States heretofore or hereafter to be enacted, with respect to parkway areas within the state for a national Mississippi River Parkway, and to obtain the benefits thereof and of federal funds and aids for its construction, maintenance and administration to the fullest extent of state constitutional limitations, the following rights, powers and duties are hereby conferred upon the state transportation department and the following provisions of law are hereby enacted.
