- Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
No appeal from any action of the circuit court had under sections 242.010 to 242.690 shall be permitted to act as supersedeas or to delay any action or the prosecution of any work begun under the provisions of this law.
