  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

Any city, town or village operating a waterworks or sewer system shall have all of the powers necessary and convenient to provide for the operation, maintenance, administration and regulation, including the adoption of rules and regulations, of any individual home or business sewerage systems within its jurisdiction.
