  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

The division may petition a court of competent jurisdiction for injunctions or other appropriate relief to enforce the provisions of sections 256.600 to 256.640. The attorney general shall represent the division when requested to do so.
