Terms Used In Missouri Laws 313.530

  • Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
  • State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020

Except as provided in section 313.620, all revenues derived or generated from the licensing of race tracks and authorization of races under sections 313.500 to 313.710 and all moneys received by the state, the commission or the director of revenue from pari-mutuel wagering pools shall be deposited by the director of revenue in the state treasury to be held in a special account to be known as the “Missouri Horse Racing Fund”. Interest earned on the Missouri horse racing fund shall be credited to that fund. The money in the Missouri horse racing fund shall be deposited in the state treasury and invested by the state treasurer, subject to appropriation as provided by the constitution and laws enacted pursuant thereto.
