Terms Used In Missouri Laws 50.430

  • Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.

Unless the delinquent appear on the first day of the next succeeding term and show good cause for setting aside such settlement, same shall become final and the amount found due shall bear interest at the rate of thirty percent per annum until paid. Such delinquent shall, moreover, be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor in office and proceeded against accordingly.
