5-15-101. Legislative consumer committee — appointment and composition. (1) There is a legislative consumer committee consisting of:

  • Legislative session: That part of a chamber's daily session in which it considers legislative business (bills, resolutions, and actions related thereto).
  • Majority party: means the party with the most members in a house of the legislature, subject to subsection (2). See Montana Code 1-1-208
  • Minority party: means the party with the second most members in a house of the legislature, subject to subsection (2). See Montana Code 1-1-208

(a)three members of the senate, two from the majority party and one from the minority party; and

(b)three members of the house of representatives, two from the majority party and one from the minority party.

(2)Members shall be appointed in the same manner as standing committees of the respective houses before the 60th legislative day of the legislative session following the expiration of the terms of the members of the committee.
