53-4-706. Participation requirements. (1) Except as otherwise provided in this section, the department may require individuals to participate in an employment and training program as a condition of their eligibility for cash assistance.
Terms Used In Montana Code 53-4-706
- Cash assistance: means the programs designed to provide families with monthly cash grants and opportunities leading to self-support and funded, in part, with temporary assistance for needy families block grant funds as provided in 45 C. See Montana Code 53-4-702
- Department: means the department of public health and human services provided for in 2-15-2201. See Montana Code 53-4-702
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Montana Code 1-1-201
(2)To the extent that the program is available and that state resources permit, the department shall require recipients of cash assistance to participate in the program if the department determines that it is an appropriate activity for the recipient and includes participation as a condition of the recipient’s individual responsibility plan.
