Terms Used In Montana Code > Title 52 > Chapter 2 > Part 9 - Early Intervention Services

  • American sign language: means visual American sign language, tactile American sign language, or protactile American sign language. See Montana Code 52-2-902
  • Department: means the department of public health and human services provided for in 2-15-2201. See Montana Code 52-2-902
  • English: means spoken English, written English, or English with or without the use of visual supplements, cued speech, or manually coded English. See Montana Code 52-2-902
  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
  • Language: means the use of American sign language or English. See Montana Code 52-2-902
  • Language developmental milestones: means milestones of development aligned with the existing state instruments used to meet the requirements of 20 U. See Montana Code 52-2-902
  • Person: includes a corporation or other entity as well as a natural person. See Montana Code 1-1-201
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Montana Code 1-1-201
