When any court of competent jurisdiction shall issue a license to any trustee, executor, administrator or guardian to execute a real estate mortgage, such court may authorize the trustee, executor, administrator or guardian to purchase stock in any association or corporation created or which may be created by authority of the United States and as an instrumentality of the United States when such purchase of stock is necessary or required as an incident to obtaining such loan; Provided, the amount of stock which may be purchased shall be limited to the amount of stock required for the proposed loan.

Terms Used In Nebraska Statutes 30-3210

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Executor: A male person named in a will to carry out the decedent
  • Guardian: A person legally empowered and charged with the duty of taking care of and managing the property of another person who because of age, intellect, or health, is incapable of managing his (her) own affairs.
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Mortgage: The written agreement pledging property to a creditor as collateral for a loan.
  • Trustee: A person or institution holding and administering property in trust.
  • United States: shall include territories, outlying possessions, and the District of Columbia. See Nebraska Statutes 49-801
