Terms Used In Nevada Revised Statutes 260.030

  • Arrest: Taking physical custody of a person by lawful authority.
  • person: means a natural person, any form of business or social organization and any other nongovernmental legal entity including, but not limited to, a corporation, partnership, association, trust or unincorporated organization. See Nevada Revised Statutes 0.039
  • Public defender: Represent defendants who can't afford an attorney in criminal matters.

2.  The public defender shall, when designated pursuant to NRS 171.188, represent, without charge, each indigent person who is under arrest and held for a public offense.
