Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 153:17

  • Complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant.
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies corporate and politic as well as to individuals. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:9
  • state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
In the cities, towns, village districts and precincts having local laws or ordinances in matters embraced in N.H. Rev. Stat. § 153:14, upon complaint of any person or persons that compliance with such laws or ordinances is not being effected, the state fire marshal shall cause such complaint to be investigated and if such complaint is substantiated he shall have the authority to take the action necessary to enforce such local laws and ordinances.
