Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 17-A:7

  • Joint committee: Committees including membership from both houses of teh legislature. Joint committees are usually established with narrow jurisdictions and normally lack authority to report legislation.
  • state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
Legislation establishing a new, upgraded, or downgraded state unclassified officer position under N.H. Rev. Stat. Chapter 94 shall to the extent practicable, be drafted by the office of legislative services without a recommended salary allocation. Changes to the salaries of unclassified officers listed in N.H. Rev. Stat. § 94:1-a, I shall be adopted in legislation reflecting the review and allocation approval by the joint committee on employee classification pursuant to the procedure in N.H. Rev. Stat. § 94:1-d and N.H. Rev. Stat. § 14:14-c.
