Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 170-C:15

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
  • Child: or "minor" means a person less than 18 years of age. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 170-C:2
  • Court: means the probate court. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 170-C:2
Any party aggrieved by any order or decree of the court may appeal to the supreme court. The pendency of an appeal, or an application therefor, shall not suspend the order of the court regarding the child.
